Elderly Man Murdered, Body Chopped And Stuffed In Bucket In Malkajgiri

Hyderabad: In a gory incident, a 80-year-old man was found murdered and his body chopped into pieces allegedly by his son in RTC Colony, Malakjgiri under Rachakonda commissionerate limits.

The octogenerian, Maruthi's body was chopped and stuffed in a bucket and police suspect that the crime was committed on Friday.

The crime came to the fore when neighbours sniffed a pungent smell emanating from the house of the accused and alerted police.

Maruthi stayed with his wife Gaya, daughter Praful and son Kishan who were arrested. The family members alleged that they decided to kill Maruthi as he was always drunk and could not bear him anymore.

The family had relocated from Mumbai to Malkajgiri 15 years ago.

Malkajgiri Assistant Commissioner of Police G Sundeep told a leading daily while Maruthi and his son Kishan often engaged in quarrels.

A case under Section 302 (punishment for murder has been registered.

In another incident in Darsi in Prakasam district, an elderly couple were found lying in a pool of blood after their veins had been cut with a knife. The son killed his parents so he could claim the insurance money.

The accused Annepu Narayana Reddy was employed with a private finance company. He was thrown out of the company after the management discovered that Annepu had cheated them to the tune of Rs 3 lakhs.
