Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri: The Bhongir police who are investigating the rape and murder of three minor girls of Hajipur village in the district, had earlier filed charge-sheets before the POCSO court in Nalgonda last week. Now with the latest forensic evidence collected by the police also confirmed that the accused Marri Srinivas Reddy had raped and murdered the three girls. The police have received technical and forensic reports from various institutions which will be submitted to the court.

Srinivas Reddy is currently lodged in the Warangal Central Jail, is being tried in a Special Court and the case is being heard on a regular basis.So far the police have questioned around 300 witnesses in this case. They also recovered messages and videos from his phone which revealed that he was a sex maniac and also pedophile.

Bhongir ACP Bhujanga Rao investigated the cases, in a stipulated 90-day limit, and filed the charge-sheets in the three cases , Yadadri-Bhuvanagiri Deputy Commissioner of Police K Narayana Reddy said in a release.

The police had enough material to believe that Srinivas Reddy murdered all the three girls, preceded by sexual assault, after obtaining crime scene details and elaborate forensic evaluation.

DCP Narayana Reddy expressed confidence that the accused would be convicted, and his team was alert in taking steps to expedite trials through a fast-track court.

Meanwhile with the news of the Warangal fast track court awarding death sentence to the accused K Praveen in the case of rape and murder of a nine-month old baby girl, netizens across the Telugu states and the nation are posting on Social media that the accused would also be given the same quantum of punishment.

Responding to these posts a police official of a CI cadre, on the condition of anonymity said that these kind of posts talking about the Police investigation at this juncture was not correct and this was just over enthusiasm by segment of people, he said.
