Autorickshaw Driver Takes Infosys Techie Home Instead Of Hostel, Harasses Her

Hyderabad: A woman techie working with Infosys was allegedly harassed by an autorickshaw driver who rather than dropping her at the destination took her to his home and harassed her. The woman, a native of Prakasam district of Andhra Pradesh had come to Hyderabad for work.

The accused driver, Shiva Raj, 30, has been arrested and taken into judicial custody.

Medipally police sid that the 24-year-old woman took an auto till Uppal crossroads. From there, she took another auto, number TS12 UA 9912, to go to her hostel at 4.15 am.

Midway, the driver changed the route and when she questioned, he allegedly took her bag and rode him off to his home in Peerzadiguda.

Police said that he forced the woman to enter her home, but she refused and started screaming. He dropped her back at Peerzadiguda main road.

The woman then took an RTC bus but the driver continued to stalk her till her hostel. When she got down, he aproached her and threatened her with consequences. She rushed to the hostel and informed her roommates as well as the hostel owner Tejeshwar Reddy, police said.

A case has been registered and the driver is booked under IPC Section 354 C.
