Son Gives Elderly Parents Overdose Of Sleeping Pills To Kill them For Insurance Money

In a sad turn of events, a case of parents being killed by their own son to claim the insurance money was reported from Darsi in Prakasam district early this week. According to the police, an elderly couple were found lying in a pool of blood after their veins had been cut with a knife.

In a latest development, the Vijayawada police appeared to have cracked the case with fingers pointing to the deceased couple's 35-year-old son. It has emerged that the man killed his own parents so he could claim the insurance money.

The accused Annepu Narayana Reddy was employed with a private finance company. He was thrown out of the company after the management discovered that Annepu had cheated them to the tune of Rs 3 lakhs. Cops say that he used the money to further his vices. When the company demanded that he repay their money, he came up with a plan to buy an insurance policy in his Mother's name. The insurance was worth 15 lakhs. He then decided to get rid of his parents by giving them butter milk laced with an overdose of sleeping pills. Fearing that he would be caught, Narayana made it look like a robbery and also cut veins of their wrists. However, the police called his bluff and arrested him.
