Jayanthi Express Robbery Mastermind Proddutur Constable Caught

Proddutur: Renigunta Railway Police arrested a constable named Subbarayudu on Friday night, for plotting and abetting a robbery on Jayanthi Express which occurred on June 11 near Pakala in Chittor district.

As per details, a debt-ridden jeweller named Nakka Rajasekhar, a printing press owner from Yerraguntla named Prasad and an army jawan Pulla Reddy who was a native of Mylavaram Mandal colluded to make quick money. They planned to rob a jeweller by the name Mukundarajan from Coimbatore who used to visit Prodduturu regularly. Subbarayudu who was working as a constable in the Command Control Center in Prodduturu helped them plan the robbery. Two months ago he conducted a recee in Coimbatore station and identified the location of the CC Cameras there. He showed them how to avoid being seen in CC Cameras, how to wear police uniforms, when to commit the robbery and at what point to escape. He also instructed them not to use cell phones at the time of the robbery.

The trio boarded Jayanthi Express which was coming from Tamil Nadu on June 11 and when the train reached Pakala near Chittoor they robbed the Jeweller Mukundarajan of 1080 grams of gold and fled. The next day Subbarayudu and Nakka Rajasekhar boarded a plane to Hyderabad from Renigunta aiport. After spending some time there, the constable reached Kadapa.

Nakka Rakasekhar, Pulla Reddy and Prasad were caught by the Renigunta police and upon interrogation revealed that the constable Subbarayudu had planned the fool-proof robbery. It is reported that the Prodduturu police are also examining if any other person's involvement was there in the train robbery apart from the four of them.
