Forest Officer Cheats, Sexually Exploits Woman, Promising Job  

Guntur: A forest officer Mohan Rao sexually exploited a woman for 5 months and also took Rs. 2 lakhs from her, promising her a government job in the department, the victim alleged, addressing media persons in front of the Guntur district police office on Wednesday. The woman, who had studied D-Pharmacy, got separated from her husband following differences with him. She was staying along with her 8 year-old daughter in her parents' house.

In the interim period, she learnt of vacancies of attenders/data entry operators in the forests department. The victim, who hailed from Chirala mandal in Prakasam district, met Mohan Rao in the Forest department office in Perecherla of Medikonduru mandal. Mohan Rao promised to get her a job in the department, if she could pay Rs. 4 lakhs. She paid Rs. 2 lakhs on February 24, stating that is all she could pay. She also submitted a job application. At time lapsed and with no news forthcoming, she called him up and sought to know further developments with respect to her job application. Mohan Rao asked her to come to Guntur and told her that it was not enough to pay money for jobs.

He suggested that she fulfil his sexual desires to get a job, according to her. The hapless victim said she surrendered to his demands for five months during the course of which he exploited her sexually and harassed her psychologically.

When the victim asked Mohan Rao about her job, he rebuffed her and refused to repay the amount she had given. The woman then realised that she had been cheated.

On Monday, the victim met AP Home Minister Mekathoti Sucharita and poured out her woes to her. The Home Minister, who took a serious view of the incident, asked her to file a complaint after meeting Urban SP, Ramakrishna. The victim met the SP on Wednesday and lodged a complaint, following which he directed the Medikonduru CI to probe the case after registering an FIR.

The victim further stated that Mohan Rao had defrauded and exploited others in a similar fashion.
