Rachakonda Police Arrests 5 Drug Peddlers, Seize 82 Kg Ganja In Hyderabad
Hyderabad: Rachakonda police arrested five drug peddlers and seized 82 kg cannabis which was peddled from Vishakhapatnam in Andhra Pradesh on Tuesday.
Police also seized Rs 30,000 cash, seven mobile phones and one vehicle from the accused.
Acting on tip--off, special operation team of LB Nagar along with Meerpet police busted the inter state marijuana drug racket and nabbed five accused - P Teja, K Kondal, S Vinod Singh, V Nagarjuna and Ch Chinnabbai, said G Sudheer Babu, Additional Commissioner of Police, Rachakonda to a leading daily. However, one accused, Raju from Odisha, is absconding, and manhunt has been launched to nab him.
Talking about the modus operandi, the accused would procure ganja from nearby Vishakhapatnam and supply the same to needy customers in Hyderabad. One accused, Teja, would purchase ganja from the agency areas Chintapalli, Paderu, border villages of Vizag and Odisha at lower rates from Raju and pack it in airtight plastic covers and then transport it to different cities.
Following this, other accused, Chinnabbai and Nagarjuna collects it from Raju in Vishakhapatnam on Monday night and boarded a private travels bus and reached Hyderabad on Tuesday. They waited at the house of K Kondal at Badangpet in Meerpet to deliver.
After a while, another accused, Vinod Singh came to the house and purchased 10 kg ganja and paid Rs 30,000 to the. Singh would later pack it in small plastic sachets of 10 grams and sell it to students to earn easy money.
It was then police apprehended all the five accused.
