“Happy Birthday Mummy - I am Sorry” Pens Teen On Suicide Note

Nagpur: Wishing his mother in a suicide note on her birthday, a teenager working with private carrier GoAir allegedly committed suicide in Nagpur on Thursday afternoon.

Manthan Chavan (19) was working as a ground staff at the Nagpur. His mother works with the special branch of Nagpur police.

According to police, Chavan hanged himself from an iron rod at his home in Chandramani Nagar under the Ajni police station area at around 2.45 pm.

Chavan's father, although uncertain about the reason behind his son's suicide, said that one of the probable reasons could be work stress.

Chavan was on leave for the last two weeks due to jaundice.

Police official (Ajni area) Kailash Magar told leading news agency that no suicide note was found, and just a piece of paper was recovered from the scene with a message written on it.

"No suicide note was found at the spot, from where a piece of paper was recovered with the message, Happy birthday mummy - I am sorry''. It was Manthan's mother's birthday yesterday," Magar said.

A case of accidental death has been registered and probe is underway the case.
