Woman, 4-year-old Son Killed In Delhi

New Delhi: A 26-year-old woman and her 4-year-old son were found dead at their house in Delhi's Patel Nagar on Thursday night.

The woman's throat was slit with a sharp weapon, while the boy, who was apparently hanged, was found lying on the floor of their house in Prem Nagar, the police said. According to the police, they received two different PCR calls about the incident. "A police team was sent right away to the house," a senior police officer said. Police said the identity of the murderer is still unknown. The husband of the deceased works in a factory in Moti Nagar.

Four killed, nine injured in road accident

Jammu: Four people were killed and nine others injured in a road accident in Jammu and Kashmir's Doda district on Thursday.

Police sources said the incident happened when a vehicle carrying 13 passengers went out of the driver's control and fell into a deep gorge at Khelani Nallah in Doda district yesterday evening. "The injured persons were taken to Doda district hospital. While four accident victims were declared dead by doctors on arrival at the hospital, nine others, some of them in critical condition, are being treated at the hospital," police sources said.

1 dead, 7 injured in road accident in UP

Muzaffarnagar (UP): A 35-year-old woman died and seven others were injured when a loaded tractor-trolley hit their car here on Friday, police said.

The occupants of the car were on their way to Uttarakhand for pilgrimage from Rajasthan's Sikar when the incident took place on the Pinna bypass road here, police said.

The deceased was identified as Priti, police said, adding that the injured are undergoing treatment at the district hospital. PTI

Three suspected cow slaughterers held in UP's Muzaffarnagar

Muzaffarnagar (UP):Three persons, suspected to be involved in an incident of cow slaughter, were arrested on Friday after an exchange of fire with police in a village here, officials said.

Police have also seized two quintals of cow meat from the accused, identified as Mohammad, Nawab and Wajid, according to Circle Officer (CO) Vijay Prakash.

Acting on a tip-off, a police team from Shahpur Police Station raided a house in Kaserwa village and arrested the three men after a brief exchange of fire, the CO said.

During the gunfight, Mohammad, who has been booked previously for cow slaughter, and a police constable Hashim Raza suffered bullet injuries and were taken to the hospital, he said.

A car, one pistol and cow meat was seized from the possession of the accused, the CO said.

During investigation it was revealed that the raided house was owned by Nawab, he said.

A case was registered against the accused under section 307 (attempt to murder) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and provisions of the Arms Act and the Prevention of Cow Slaughter Act, he added. PTI
