Hyderabad: Gold Ornaments Worth Rs 18 Lakh Stolen from Shankar Mutt

Hyderabad: Gold ornaments weighing around 25 tolas went missing from a safe in Nallakunta on Saturday. According to the details, the gold ornaments worth approximately Rs.18 lakh were burgled from Shanker Mutt in Hyderabad. The incident is learned to have taken place a few weeks ago but the Mutt officials informed the police two days ago as their internal inquiry didn't yield any results.

The Mutt officials told the police that the gold ornaments were stolen from the locker of the institution. The police suspect that it is a case of insider job as the Mutt officials believe that persons associated with the institution must have committed the offense.

Based on the complaint, the police registered a case and have begun the investigation. In connection to the theft, two employees from the institution were suspended from the job and have been taken into police custody for questioning.

Also, it is learned that a helped is involved in the case and efforts are being made to recover the ornaments from him.
