Three minors raped in Rajasthan
Jaipur:Three minor girls were raped in different parts of Rajasthan, including one in Alwar where the family members of the victim lynched one of the three accused, the police said on Saturday.
Aged around 15 years, the girl was allegedly gang raped by three minors on May 14 in Hasraura village under Sadar Police Station of Alwar where the girl had gone to attend a relative's marriage.
"While one of the accused managed to flee, the other two were caught by the victims' family members and thrashed the next morning... Few hours later, one of them was found dead on the roadside," SP Paris Anil Deshmukh said.
"The family members of the victim and the deceased have lodged separate FIRs. The mother of the girl lodged an FIR against the three accused, the family members of the deceased registered a case of murder against the girl's brother and others," he added.
Deshmukh informed that both the accused were detained on Friday and will be sent to juvenile home.
In a separate incident, a six-year old girl was allegedly raped by her relative in Churu's Bhanipura area.
"The girl had gone to fetch water when the 14-year old accused took her to an isolated place and committed the crime on Friday. He has been detained," SHO of Bhanipura Police Station Malkiyat Singh said.
In another incident, an eight-year-old girl was raped in Khurd village of Dholpur on Thursday.
"The victim was staying at her maternal grandfather's home where the accused, identified as Parvesh, 18, raped her. He was caught today (Saturday)," SHO of Mahila Thana-Dholpur Yashpal Singh said. PTI
23-year-old chased, shot at multiple times in Rohini
New Delhi: A 23-year-old man was shot at multiple times and critically injured by a group of men in Rohini here on Saturday, police said.
Mohit was attacked around 6:30 am when he along with his three friends were sitting in a car, a senior police officer said.
Four men in a vehicle pulled up alongside Mohit's car and one of them got out and pointed a gun at the victim, he said.
Though the victim's friends managed run away, Mohit, who was slow-footed, was chased by the armed man and his accomplices, police said.
Mohit ran towards a colony in Sector -11 and was shot at multiple times. He suffered injuries and is admitted at a city hospital, the officer said, adding that his condition is critical.
The perpetrators, who have been identified, fired 15-14 rounds, he said.
The officer said a police and forensic team have inspected the spot and Mohit's friends are being questioned.
It is suspected to be a case of personal enmity, police said. PTI
Five including 4 kids die as bus overturns on Lucknow-Agra expressway
Unnao: At least five persons including four children died and 19 others sustained injuries, when the bus in which they were travelling overturned here on the Lucknow-Agra Expressway.
According to police, the accident occurred near Devkhari village in Bangarmau area when a tractor suddenly appeared before the bus which was travelling at a high speed.
The driver swerved to avoid hitting the tractor but lost control of the vehicle, SHO of Bangarmau Police Station Arvind Kumar Singh said, adding that the bus was on its way to Madhubani in Bihar from Gurgaon, Haryana.
"Of the five passengers who died, four are children. The identity of the deceased is yet to be ascertained," he said.
The injured have been sent to Trauma centre in Lucknow and to district hospital in Unnao. The dead bodies have been sent for post-mortem, police said. PTI
Woman beaten to death by step son
Muzaffarnagar :A 65-year-old woman was beaten to death by her step son at Gurana village in Uttar Pradesh's Shamli district, police said Saturday.
The accused has been identified as Subhash, Station House Officer Vijay Kumar said.
The matter is being investigated, he said. PTI
Four men rob jewellery shop in Muzaffarnagar
Muzaffarnagar :Four armed men looted cash and ornaments worth Rs 5 lakh from a jewellery shop here, police said Saturday.
The incident took place at Khatoli town on Friday.
They looted jewellery worth Rs 5 lakh and Rs 6,000 cash, Station House Officer Harsharan Sharma said.
The robbers came on two motorcycles. A search has been launched to nab the perpetrators, the officer said. PTI
Youth shot dead by three miscreants
Muzaffarnagar:A 24-year-old man was allegedly shot dead by three miscreants when he was on his motorcycle with a friend, police said Saturday.
Mohit was rushed to a hospital where he was declared dead, they said.
A case has been registered and an investigation is on, Superintendent of Police Sudhir Kumar said. PTI
