Husband Primary Suspect After Mother-Son Duo Found Dead

A mother and a son were allegedly murdered and the bodies were found in a water tank drum in their house, said the police on Wednesday.

They have identified the woman as Sabnam and her son Irfan. Both of them were found dead in their residence which comes under the Vanasthalipuram police station limits. After investigations, it is suspected that the murders were carried out by the husband.

Both of them have been missing since last Saturday and their dead bodies were noticed by the locals. Sabhan married Adil around three to four years ago and they were staying in Autonagar area in Vanasthalipuram. We suspect that Adil could have killed his wife and son following which he dumped their bodies in a water drum and fled from the spot," a police official familiar with the investigation said.

The authorities have shifted the bodies to a local government hospital for autopsy and a case under the section 302 of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) has been registered, said the police.
