The Telangana High Court on Friday granted conditional bail to three accused in the sensational murder of 24 year-old Dalit youth Perumalla Pranay who was hacked to death in September 2018. The accused are likely to be released from Warangal Central Jail on Saturday.

Pranay's wife Amrutha, has been fighting for justice and has been opposing bail to the accused her father, T. Maruthi Rao, uncle T. Shravan, Asghar Ali, Mohammed Abul Bari and S Shiva in the case.

The court granted bail to Maruthi Rao, Shravan and another accused in the case, Karim. Meanwhile, the district SP, Ranganath has hinted that the government would challenge the conditional bail granted by the High Court to the accused in the Supreme Court.

Pranay, a Dalit, was hacked to death in September last year as he was coming out of a hospital in Miryalguda town of Nalgonda district along with his wife Amrutha, with whom he had an inter-caste marriage. Amrutha and Pranay had married in January 2018 against the wishes of her father Maruthi Rao, a businessman who comes from an upper caste.

The police said that it was a clear case of caste killing and stated that Maruthi Rao struck the deal to kill his son-in-law for Rs 1 crore.

The police identified the killer as Subhash Sharma, a native of Bihar, whom Bari had met in Rajahmundry Central Jail.
