Woman Beaten With Hot Iron Rod, Hair Pulled Out For Dowry In Bihar

Gopalganj: In a shocking incident, a 22-year-old woman was left to die on the railway tracks by her husband and in-laws here in Bihar allegedly for dowry demands.

According to police, the survivor was beaten by her husband along with her in-laws with a hot iron rod. They ripped her nails and pulled out her hair. When she gained consciousness, they threw her at the railway tracks.

When people spotted her at the tracks, she was taken to the hospital and was said to be in critical condition.

Doctors said that the survivor was in a critical condition and suffered burns in several parts of her body.

The survivor complained that her husband had demanded Rs 2 lakh and a bike as dowry. She said that when she failed to give the money, they started to torture her.

A case has been registered and the accused and his family are absconding.
