Reprimanded For PUBG Addiction, Class X Student Commits Suicide In Malkajgiri
Hyderabad: Online game 'PUBG' has yet again become responsible for the death of a teenager who was reportedly an addict of the PlayerUnknown's Battleground game.
A 16-year-old boy from Malkajgiri area here committed suicide after getting chided by his mother for addiction towards the online game.
According to police, the minor studying in Class X was upset after his mother scolded him for playing the game and later locked himself inside the room. Even after repeated knocks, when the teenager did not open the door, they barged into the room and saw him hanging from the ceiling fan.
The incident happened on the intervening night of Monday and Tuesday.
He was immediately taken to the hospital where he was declared dead.
Sub-inspector K Sanjeeva Reddy said that the boy began playing the game four months ago and became addicted.
Recently, a 20-year-old youth from Jagtial in Telangana died while undergoing treatment for neck pain. Reportedly, he had severely strained his neck and his nerves were completely damaged for playing the game for long hours.
In yet another instance, a 15-year-old boy in Uttar Pradesh, ran away from his home after he was reprimanded by his family for playing the game.
For all such reasons, Indian states are mulling about putting a ban on the game. However, Gujarat lifted the ban recently.
