Beware Of Human Trafficking Agents: Police Commissioner
Hyderabad: There have been human trafficking agents rampant, who operated a highly sophisticated and evolved racket.
They have been training and conducting training classes for gullible job aspirants, on the processes and the precautionary measures to be taken while interacting with officials at the immigration counters of airports, said the Cyberabad police. This comes after a racket was caught at the RGIA Shamshabad by a man named Manikanta and his gang and also Pushpa and gang.
“The illegal agents were conducting classes to job aspirants who wanted to work abroad. Before their travel, they would assure the unemployed that there are no hurdles,” Police Commissioner, Cyberabad, VC Sajjanar.
The illegal travel agents operated from different districts and states including Kadapa, Nellore, Chittoor, Tirupati, East and West Godavari, Bengaluru, Chennai, Hyderabad, Tamil Nadu, Kerala and Maharashtra.
“Illegal travel agents lured gullible and unemployed youngsters who dreamed of working overseas in villages, mandals and districts collected one lakh from each of them,” Sajjanar said.
There were as many as 100 illegal travel agents that were identified by the police officials, who have sent close to 1 lakh job aspirants to Kuwait. It is said that these aspirants submit a fake visit visa along with their passports at the immigration counter. As there is no particular validation of visit visas, officials simply verify the number and details of the passengers and let them board the flight.
Sajjanar said that the role of hospitals in Hyderabad and Sri Lanka is also being probed. “There are some half a dozen listed hospitals in Hyderabad for checking the fitness of the people being sent abroad. Those who are found to be unfit are taken to some other listed hospitals in Sri Lanka. The roles of these hospitals are being probed further,” the Police Commissioner said.
