Singareni Colony Minor Raped By Neighbour After Being Lured with Sweets

Hyderabad: A minor girl was lured with sweets and sexually assaulted by a man in the city. The accused, Ramavath Srinivas (28) is an unemployed engineer residing in Singareni Colony.

According to the victim's mother, Srinivas lured the nine-year-old girl, who is his neighbour with sweets on Friday evening.

The girl was playing with her brother near her house around 7.30 pm when the incident took place. The victim's mother found out about the incident on Saturday morning when the girl complained of severe stomach pain. Upon questioning, the girl narrated the ordeal.

Following this, the victim’s mother filed a complaint at the Saidabad police station and a case under IPC Section 376(2) and provisions of the POCSO Act was registered against Srinivas. The police arrested the accused and are investigating further.
