Hard Disks Of IT Grids Now In Possession Of SIT

Hyderabad: The Special Investigation Team (SIT), which is probing the data theft case, has stepped up the pace in its investigation process. The SIT under the leadership of IG Stephen Ravindra, once again conducted searches in the IT Grids Pvt Ltd premises located in Sri Krishna Heights building in Ayyappa Society at Madhapur on Saturday.

The search operation, which commenced from eleven in the morning went on till six in the evening. Assisting the IG were two SIT members — Kamareddy District Superintendent of Police N Swetha and Cyberabad Deputy Commissioner of Police (Crimes) Rohini who also took part in the search operations.

Officials from the police clues team, along with scientific and technical experts, examined the office to reconstruct the crime scene and some more hard disks were seized by them.

Speaking to reporters after the search operations IG Stephen said that the seized hard disks would be submitted to the court and send to the Forensic Science Laboratory (FSL) for scientific analysis.

When asked about the petition filed by IT grids CEO D Ashok before the Telangana High Court requesting to cancel the case booked against him, the IG said that he would have to check with the legal team before proceeding illegally.

The data theft case that was registered at Sanjeeva Reddy Nagar police station was also transferred to the SIT, but he said they were yet to receive details about that case. As of now the seized computer peripherals, hard disks and other material would be shifted to SIT offices , he said.
