Amberpeta: A man from the city was murdered and buried in the same pit dug by him after being taken into the forest area under the lure of a secret treasure by his wife's paramour.

According to the details, Chandra Shekar(47), a physically challenged person hailing from Kodimamilla near Nandyal relocated to Amberpeta in the city along with his wife Varalakshmi. A few days ago while travelling on the train Chandra Shekar developed a friendship with Venkata Rami Reddy working as a home guard in the Sultan Bazar Police Station.

Both of them frequently met at Chandra Shekar’s house, in the meanwhile Venkateswara Reddy got into an extra-marital relationship with his wife Varalakshmi. Upon learning about the relationship Chandra Shekar reprimanded her in front of all the relatives.

However, Venkata Rami Reddy lured Chandra Shekar into digging out a hidden treasure and took him to the forest area along with his relative Ramesh Reddy from LB Nagar. The trio consumed liquor at Ibrahimpatnam area and proceeded towards the forest, where they dug a pit, looking for the hidden treasure. Not knowing that he was to be buried Chandra Shekar even helped both of them to dig the pit.

Both Venkata Rami Reddy and Ramesh Reddy murdered Chandra Shekar, while he was intoxicated and buried him in the same pit. After that Varalakshmi filed a complaint on 24 Jan that her husband went missing. The relatives suspected that Venkata Rami Reddy and Varalakshmi were responsible for the victim going missing when the police took them into custody and inquired Venkata Rami Reddy accepted the offense.

The accused took the police to the spot where Chandra Shekar was murdered and buried. Police have registered a complaint and are carrying out a probe.
