Fake Currency Racket Busted, Counterfeit Notes Worth Rs 3.98 Lakh Seized
Hyderabad: The South Zone Task Force police on Friday busted an inter-state counterfeit currency racket and arrested two people.
Fake Rs 2,000 notes with a face value of Rs 3.98 lakh were seized from them. The accused have been identified as Mohd Ghouse alias Bomb Ghouse (48) and Rabiul Shekh, (22), a resident of Malda district in West Bengal.
According to the police, Ghouse has been circulating fake notes since 2011 and has been arrested 12 times since. His last arrest was in 2016 and during this period, he circulated fake currency via a man named Ameenul Rehman (main supplier of fake currency). After his release January 12, 2019, Ghouse immediately planned to get back to his business of circulating fake currency.
He made a new deal for supplying Rs 4 lakh worth Fake Indian Currency Note (FICN) with Rehman.
While Ghouse and Rabiul Sekh were exchanging counterfeit currency in Hashamabad area on Friday, they were apprehended by the South Zone Task Force and Chandrayangutta Police.
