Main Accused In Diesel Theft Racket Arrested
Neredmet: Police have arrested two more accused of an inter-state gang who were indulging in the diesel theft case.
According to Malkajgiri DCP Ch R Umamaheswara Sarma, the gang committed the theft of the nearly 1.30 lakh liters of diesel from the main pipeline of Indian Oil Corporation (IOC) and Bharat Petrol Corporation (BPC) which leads to Cherlapally from Ghatkesar.
Following this, a case was registered by the police under sections 379 IPC, Section 15(2) Petroleum and Minerals Pipelines- Amendment Act-2011. On January 17, Makajgiri CCS police officials arrested four persons in regard to this case and seized a tanker along with cash worth Rs 90.40 lakh from them.
On Wednesday, the CCS officials arrested the main accused, Sarvar Shaik (52) along with another member of the gang, Suresh Kumar (38) who was the driver/owner of the tanker. They seized net cash of Rs 4.29 lakh and a diesel tanker from the possession of the accused.
The police informed that the stolen diesel was sent to Karad in Maharashtra, Cane Agro Energy Limited and Sai Krishna Sugar companies in Sirur, Karnataka. Several cases are learned to have already been filed against Sarvar Shaikh in Mumbai. Special Squads have been deployed to nab the remaining accused - Jiyahul Chand Shaik, Sunil Anil, Vasu, Srikanth, and Naresh Reddy.
