Chittoor Government Servant Caught With Disproportionate Assets

Madanapalle: A government surveyor from Madanapalle in Chittoor district, has been arrested by the Anti Corruption Bureau officials for disproportionate assets.

According to the details provided by the ACB additional SP Tirumaleswar Reddy, the accused G Venkata Ramana is a regular surveyor at the Madanapalle Tehasildar office and deputy surveyor in the HNSS division.

The ACB raids took place in six locations, three in Madanapalle and in Durgasamudram in Chowdepalle, and Punganur Kothapalle village of Gudur Mandal in Nellore.

ACB officials identified two duplex houses under the name of Venkata Ramana, two duplexes under his wife’s name and two more buildings. Along with them, he owned a Bio products factory, a car, motorbike, and two sheds in Valasapalle industrial area in Punganur road. Ramana also possessed Rs 1,40,000 cash at the time of the raid, which was seized by the ACB.

He joined the service in 1996 and since then has been working as a surveyor in Chittoor district. Six months ago, he took charge in Mandanapalle Tehasildhar office. ACB officials took Ramana into custody and will present him before the ACB Court in Nellore.
