School Bus Falls Into Culvert In Guntur, Few Kids Critical

Guntur: Monday morning turned tragic for a few school children in Andhra Pradesh who were on their way to school. A school bus carrying more than 50 children fell into a culvert in Guntur district. The incident took place near Mandadigodu, Veldurthi Mandal.

The bus is said to belong to Krishnaveni talent school. Students are believed to have said that the driver SK Tajuddinis, was reportedly drunk at the time of the accident and he is being questioned by the police.

As per latest reports, there were 52 students who were accompanied by a school teacher inside the bus when the mishap took place. While ten students were seriously injured in the accident, the condition of four kids is said to be critical. The injured were shifted to a government hospital in Macharla. It is learned that the bus overturned near Mandadigodu in Veldurthi mandal.

Anxious parents rushed to the accident spot on learning about the mishap. A few even went to the hospital and staged a protest there against the school over the safety of their children. Macherla MLA P Ramakrishna Reddy also came to the site immediately and joined the rescue operations.
