Pregnant Woman Murdered; Husband Arrested 

Hyderabad: A pregnant housewife was murdered by her husband on Monday evening at their residence in Marredpally.

The deceased, identified as Satyavati, who married Sunny in 2013. The couple had been in love and got married with the consent of both families.

However, a year later, Satyavati faced constant harassment and abuse in the hands of her intoxicated husband following which she left their house at Valmikinagar in East Marredpally at the time.

According to Marredpally police, Satyavati asked Sunny to take her to the hospital for a regular check up on Monday evening and later her phone went unanswered when her father tried to contact.

The next day when Satyavati's father Chintala Ramulu enquired Sunny about her whereabouts, he claimed ignorance.

Sunny’s father Surender, approached Satyavati’s father on Wednesday and revealed that Sunny had confessed to murdering his daughter.

The two men, together went to Satyavati’s residence. Finding the house locked from inside, they broke it open and found Satyavati’s decomposed body on the bed with blood oozing out of her nose.

Police registered a case based on the complaint filed by the victim's father and Sunny was arrested under Section 302 (murder) and 498-A (Husband or relative of husband subjecting her to cruelty) of IPC.
