Craze For Stunts Turned This Lad Into A Bike Thief

Gang involved in stealing bikes  - Sakshi Post

Hyderabad: A 17-year-old from Siddharth Nagar in Hyderabad, pursuing his intermediate first year in a college in ECIL has been found to be dealing in bike robberies.

Being an expert in bike stunts, the boy is known to give training to others which further led him to bike racing. To show off these stunts and take part in the races, the boy along with three other boys began dealing in stolen bikes and to fill in petrol, they began to steal mobile phones as well. The North Zone Task Force police on Tuesday caught all the four boys.

The boy's father passed away when he was young while his mother worked as a maid to take care of him. What started off as a mere 'training' of his stunts for his friends at KBR park, led to a gang of minors being formed.

Unable to afford the costs of the bike, the gang began stealing bikes in Golconda and Jubilee Hills to perform stunts in races. They stole three bikes - two of which are KTMs and another is a Pulsar. To travel on the bikes, they needed petrol for which they stole mobile phones from Gopalapuram, Mahankali and LB Nagar. Placing fake registered numbered plates on the bikes, the gang stole mobiles phones from the public walking on road.

The leader of the gang was held by the police last month in regard to the case of stolen cell phones, however, he didn't admit to any of his past crimes. The gang was then caught on CCTV cameras stealing phones. The North Zone Task Force police investigating the case, followed their movements and took all the four boys into custody.
