Alert Bus Driver Averts Accident On Srisailam Ghat Road
Srisailam, Kurnool: A major tragedy was averted when a private travel bus carrying 50 passengers almost fell into a gorge near Srisailam in Kurnool district. The accident occurred in the early hours of Sunday morning as the bus was climbing up the Ghat road called Deyyala Malupu near Chinnarutla in Dornala mandal, when the bus lost control after its brakes failed. The bus hit the side wall of the road and was almost going to fall into the gorge but the alert bus driver somehow managed to steer the vehicle away from falling off the road and saved all the passengers.The bus was left hanging midway and the Police came immediately and helped all the passengers down from the bus who hailed from Maharashtra.
According to ASI of Dornala police V Venkateswarlu, the passengers were on a pilgrimage and were on their way to the Bhramarambha Mallikharjuna Swamy temple at Srisailam on Sunday. They thanked the driver for his dexterity in preventing the bus from falling of the hill and thus saving the lives of the 50 passengers.
The police helped all the passengers to get down from the bus. It is learnt that they hailed from Maharashtra and they thanked the driver for his alertness in preventing the bus from falling of the hill and thus saving the lives of 50 passengers.
