Drunk Driver Rams Car Into Bathroom, Woman Killed On Spot

Hyderabad: In what could be called a bizarre accident, a woman died in her bathroom when a car that went out of control crashed into her bathroom wall and killed her on Monday morning in Gowlidoddi near Hitech City.

In the early hours on Monday a car bearing registration number TS-12EA-1169 driven by a Mohammed Ikram Ali was heading towards Gowlidoddi from Gopanapally village, hit the road median and dragged 60 metres to hit a scooter in front of the victim's house and with the same impact crashed into her bathroom wall. The victim identified as Madhu Bai, (45) was a widow living with her son Santhosh who used to work as a daily wage earner while she stayed at home. Unfortunately she was in the bathroom taking her bath when the car crashed into the wall. The walls collapsed with the impact and fell on her.

She was immediately rushed to Continental Hospital nearby with bleeding injuries but died while undergoing treatment. The driver Ali was drunk and had lost control of the car. The Gachibowli police have booked a case of negligence causing death and drunken driving against him and he was taken into custody.
