Husnabad: Unable to clear debts, a farmer committed suicide by consuming poison. The incident took place on Monday night at Akkannapeta. According to the locals and police, the deceased Nampally Anjaneyulu (25) is a farmer who has one and half acre agricultural land. To drill his borewell, he borrowed Rs 3 lakh. To his misfortune, the borewell failed. He took three acres as lease and started farming. Deficit monsoon, damaged the crop and forced him to borrow Rs 2 lakh afresh and purchased two autos. He ended up borrowing approximately Rs 5 lakh and could not pay the rising interest amounts.

On Monday night, he committed suicide by consuming pesticide at the agricultural land. Based on a complaint given by Anjaneyulu's wife Sirisha, the police filed a case and started probing the matter. The couple has a son.

Recently, in a similar incident, depressed over not having a job, a married man committed suicide by hanging himself. The incident took place at West Venkatapuram, Hyderabad. According to the police, the deceased K Manoj Kumar (39) used to live with his wife K Pallavi and daughter at MES Colony. After losing his job, to take care of his family, Manoj had taken loans and subsequently ran into debt.

The Alwal police said that depressed over losing his job, he hanged himself to death. The police have filed a case under the section 174 of the CrPC.

In a similar incident, a woman committed suicide by consuming poison after being depressed over joblessness years after finishing her engineering course. The incident took place at Malkajgiri.

According to the police, a suicide note was found at her home. She was identified as K Navya (26) from Chilukur, Nalgonda district. After completing her studies, she was looking out for a job. An year ago, she came to Hyderabad to live at her uncle's house at MJ Colony, Moula Ali.

A. Manmohan, Malkajgiri inspector said,"Navya went to the top of the apartment and consumed poison. She left a suicide note before she died stating that she didn't want to live without a job. When the watchman went to the terrace, he found the woman in an unconscious state and informed her family members. They shifted her to a hospital where she died while undergoing treatment," said the inspector.

Based on a complaint given by the girl's brother Nithin, the police filed a case of suspicious death. After completing the post-mortem at Gandhi hospital, the body was handed over to the family members.
