Chennai: An auto driver killed his wife and children and later hanged himself to death. The incident took place on Monday evening at T Nagar, Chennai. Babu (30) fell in love with Vimala (27) and got married. The couple had two children, Kishore (6), and Diya (4). Babu was an alcoholic who used to often fight with his wife. On November 14, a drunk Babu fought with Vimala.

A Dejected Vimala went to her parents house along with the children. On December 16, he got back his wife and children to the house. The neighbours suspected that something wad amiss in Babu's house and when they broke open the door, they found the entire family dead. Immediately, they alerted the police who reached the spot and learned that Babu had killed his wife and children before killing himself. It is learned that Babu trangled his children. Later his body was found hanging in the bedroom. The police filed a case and started probing the matter.

Recently, in a similar incident, a man set his mother on fire for refusing money to buy alcohol. The incident took place in Bengaluru. The victim was sent to a hospital for treatment. The victim and her son lived in Sadasiva Nagar along with her husband. The accused Uttam Kumar (20) was an alcohol addict and would often harass his mother for money.

An argument broke out between the duo when the accused demanded money for alcohol. His mother refused to give him money and in a fit of rage Uttam doused petrol on his mother. The victim's husband rescued her and rushed her to a hospital. She suffered burn injuries on her face, hands and the chest, it is learnt. The police said that the accused is now absconding. A case was filed against him and hunt is on to nab the criminal.
