Guntur Road Mishap Kills A Woman, 7 Hurt
Guntur: A woman was killed and seven people severely injured along with a three-year-old child in a road accident. The incident took place on Thursday at the national highway of Guntur near Chilakalurpeta.
According to locals, the people of Rahmat Nagar, East Malapalle and NTR colony would go to a spinning mill in Timmapuram every day. On Wednesday evening, 10 members finished their work and were returning home in a three wheeler. The speeding auto accidentally hit the divider and flipped at the market yard.
The accident killed several passengers. Koratala Vani (55) died on the spot and Nelapato Dayamma, Gattupalli Shouramma, Sheik Silar Bee, Sheik Meera Bee, G Vijayarani along with her son G Harshavardhan were severely injured. It is learned that Dayamma and Shouramma are in critical condition. The locals rushed them to government hospital in a 108 vehicle and later shifted them to Guntur GGH. The police was informed who reached the spot and started probing the case.
The locals said that the accident was caused due to over speed. Some of them say that the auto overturned trying to overtake the bike. It is learned that there have been many accidents at the junction where vehicles come from Baran Nagar near the check post to cross the national highway. Despite being a cross road, accidents occur due to overspeed, it is learned.
