Kedaranath Producer Prerna Arora Arrested For Cheating Vashu Bagnani

Mumbai: Prerna Arora, the director of motion picture production house, KriArj Entertainment Private Limited has been arrested for allegedly cheating film producer Vashu Bhagnani to a tune of Rs 31.6 crore. According to police sources, Prerna along with her colleagues has cheated the producer to provide finance for the films Padman and Kedarnath by promising him first claim on pre release revenue but they sold the rights to other organisations and concealed the fact. Later they failed to give the money as per the contract.

Police say that she also planned to buy a house worth Rs 9 Crore in the upscale Mumbai area at Pali Hill in Bandra . She bought the house based on credit note given by Vashu Bhagnani on the basis of a contract that if she failed to pay the money, he would get the revenue from Padman's release. But she failed to repay the money nor the release amount nor the penalty amount of Rs 5 Crore.

After Padman’s release, her company failed to repay Vashu Bhagnani's Puja Films and Vashu Bahnani received an email from Sony Films telling him that Gothic Entertainment had also claimed a revenue share of the film and the matter came to light that Prerna Arora had been cheating all the three of them.

Criminal Cases under sections 420 (cheating) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the IPC have been booked against her and her company KriArj Entertainment Private Limited and she has been arrested by the Economic Offences Wing department.

Considered one of the most influential women in Bollywood, she has launched films like Rustom in 2016, Toilet- Ek Prem Katha,Padman all starring Akshay Kumar and now the latest controversial film starring Sushanth Singh Rajput and Sara Ali Khan's -Kedaranth.
