Karnataka Man Kills Tenth Standard Girl For Resisting His Advances
Karnataka: A man killed a 10th class girl for rejecting his love. The incident took place on Wednesday at Doddaballapuram in Karnataka. According to the police, the deceased Keerthana (15) was the second daughter of Nandeesa and Lalitha. The accused was identified as Naveen (28). Keerthana was pursuing her 10th class at BSA school. Her father runs a tea shop. On Wednesday around 8:30 am, while Keerthana was on her way to school, Naveen attacked her with an axe and she died on the spot. It is learned that the accused threatened the locals when they tried to stop him from killing her.
Keerthana's sister had married Naveen's younger brother which was an inter caste marriage . Naveen used to visit Keerthana's house frequently and forced her parents to give Keerthana in marriage to him. But they were not interested in him due to his bad habits and rejected the proposal several times. The girl was also not interested marrying him and since then Naveen started harassing her . The locals also intervened in the matter and handed him over to the police station who warned him.
After killing Keerthana, Naveen called his family members and said that he was committing suicide. When they reached the spot, he pretended that he had committed suicide and was immediately, shifted to the government hospital but was declared was out of danger. The police took him to custody who filed a case of murder on him and attempt to suicide on him.
