Newly-Married Couple Found Dead In Tamil Nadu
Tamilnadu: In a suspicious incident, a newly married couple were found dead in Kaveri river. The police started investigating and suspect them to be honor killings. The incident came to light on Housuru, Krishnagiri district, Tamilnadu.
According to the police, Nandeesh and Swathi fell in love with each other. Nandeesh used work in a private hardware company at Housuru. Swathi completed her graduation. Swathi's parents did not approve of her relationship or her idea of getting married to to Nandeesh since he belongs to a different community. On August 15th, the couple got married at Timmaraya swamy temple against their parents’ wishes.
On November 10th from 9 pm, Nandeesh and Swathi went missing. Shankar, Nandeesh’s brother lodged a complaint on 14th November at Housuru police station. The police who started a search operation, discovered Nandeesh’s dead body three days ago by Kaveri river. On Thursday, Swathi was also found dead at the same place were Nandeesh’s body was found. Police sent the bodies to the morgue and the case was transfered to Krishnagiri police.
Suspecting honor killings, the police took both Nandeesh and Swathi's parents into custody and are interrogating them.
