Family In Depression Attempts Suicide

Anantapur: A family in depression attempted to commit suicide.  According to the police, Srinivasulu hails from Jalalapuram, Bathalapallu Mandal and was married to Sirisha. The couple have two children. Sirisha is an Asha worker. Their elder son Umeshchandra (11) is in 6th class in a private school at Bathalapalli and their daughter, Keerthana in 5th class at Tanakallu residential school.

Sirisha used to visit every house in the village as an Asha worker. Umeshchandra was mentally disturbed when the locals started spreading rumours about his mother saying she was involved in extra-marital relationships. He was depressed and committed suicide by consuming pesticide on Monday night. Later, his parents shifted him to the hospital where he died on Wednesday while undergoing the treatment.

On Thursday night, an argument broke out between Srinivasulu and Sirisha. In the early hours of Friday around 2 am, the couple consumed pesticide along with their daughter. Before suicide attempt, Srinivasulu sent a WhatsApp message to his higher officer that they are committing suicide. The officer allerted the police who informed the locals and shifted them to hospital. It is learned that Srinivasulu and his daughter Keertana's situation is critical.

It is also learned that Srinivasulu had written a letter where he mentioned the reasons behind their suicide attempt.
