Businessman Sets Himself On Fire

Hyderabad:A trader reportedly set himself on fire near the Bhongir-Nalgonda highway on Saturday.He died on Sunday morning while undergoing treatment.

The victim was later identified as S.Gowtham (43) of Kachiguda in the city. Gowtham, who suffered severe burns was taken by the Bhongir police to a nearby hospital for treatment,where he succumbed to his injuries.

Initial reports suggested that it was a murder attempt as Gowtham was accompanied by his friend Vikram.Later it was came to be known that he had committed suicide.

In fact, the victim did not have any friend by the name of Vikram. Police checked footage from several CCTV cameras. In the footage Gautham was seen purchasing petrol from a bunk on the way to Bhongir. He travelled alone and set himself on fire, according to Bhongir (Rural) Inspector Y.Surender Reddy.
