Nellore: Two brothers were allegedly attacked by two men with knives. The incident took place on Friday night at BV Nagar, Nellore.

According to the police, Santosh Kumar and Jander alias Babloo are brothers from Rajasthan and came to Nellore for livelihood. They live in Anagunta colony and work as finishing workers of marble.

On Friday night, when they were eating chaat at BV Nagar here, two unknown people came there. While eating, they poured water on the brothers and then suggested to them to eat properly. The unknown duo who came on a bike got into an argument with the brothers. Meanwhile, they reportedly took out knives from their bike and are said to have attacked the brothers on their back. Later, they fled the scene on their bike. Santosh Kumar and Jander suffered severe injuries and fell down, bleeding. The locals informed 108 which reached the spot and shifted them to hospital.

The police learned of the matter and collected details from the owner of the chat shop. Later, they went to the hospital to enquire from the victims. Based on their complaint, police filed a case against the accused and started probing the case from a number of angles. They are also studying if there's any previous history of confrontation between the accused and the victims. The question as to why the accused were carrying knives in their bikes, is also being looked into. The police have launched a manhunt to nab the accused.

Before this attack, the police found that a chain snatching took place on Thursday night in the same area.
