Businessman Shot Dead In Nellore

Nellore: A businessman from Rajasthan was allegedly killed here in Nellore. Two unidentified assailants shot him dead, it is learnt. The reason behind this shooting is, as yet, unknown. The incident took place on Saturday night. The victim who suffered serious injuries died in the hospital while undergoing treatment. The police announced a high-alert in the city following the killing.

The deceased K Mahendra Singh (40) hailed from Rajasthan and lived with his wife Usha and their three children. They shifted to Nellore 10 years back to earn their livelihood. Mahendra Singh started working in a marble shop. Seven years back, he rented a shop (Komal Power Tours) near his colony and started selling marble.

On Saturday night around 10 PM, when he was closing the shop, two unknown people wearing a mask came on a bike and fired four times at Mahendra Singh and fled the scene. Immediately, the locals rushed to the spot hearing the sound of gunfire. Due to severe injuries, Mahendra Singh fell down at the spot and was later shifted to Bollineni hospital where he died while undergoing treatment. It is learned that the bullets pierced his heart and stomach resulting in heavy bleeding. Police are probing the shooting.
