IIT Kharagpur Student Who Committed Suicide From Guntur

Kharagpur: A Telugu guy who was pursuing his degree at IIT Kharagpur in West Bengal committed suicide in a suspicious manner. The deceased was identified as Gangireddi Hanimireddy (24) from Nakirikil, Guntur district. Hanimireddy was a student of M.Tech second year in Electrical Engineering. He lived at the Madanmohan Malavya campus hostel.

On Wednesday, around 8 PM, His friends informed security when they were unable to open the door of Gangireddy's room. The police and security guys helped to break the door and found Gangireddy hanging to a fan. They immediately shifted him to the B.C.Roy hospital but the doctors declared him brought dead.

In another incident, poverty claimed the life of a tenth class student. A boy committed suicide over not having enough money to buy clothes for Dussehra festival. The incident took place on Sunday at Shabad, Rangareddy district.

According to the police, Vadde Venkatesh and Sujatha are daily wage labourers, with two children. Praveen was stuyding Class 10 at mandal government high school and used to live in a BC hostel.

He had recently come to his hometown to celebrate Dussehra festival. He had asked his mother to buy him new clothes and she replied saying she will buy him clothes when they get money.

The boy again asked his mother for new clothes. She replied that that she still didn't have the money to buy clothes for him. A depressed Praveen committed suicide by hanging himself when he was alone at home. When his parents returned home for lunch, they found their son hanging.
