Pranay Honour Killing: Court Rejects Bail To Maruthi Rao, Others

Miryalaguda: The accused in the sensational honour killing of Dalit youth Perumalla Pranay were denied bail by the Nalgonda SC/ST Special Court, Miryalaguda DSP P Srinivas informed. Seeking bail in the murder case from the Court, the accused, namely A1 Thirunagaru Maruthi Rao, A3 Asgar Ali, A4 Abdul Bari, A5 Karim, A6 Thirunagaru Shravan and A7 Shiva filed a petition in the Court.

After hearing both the parties in the case, which was filed under the Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe Prevention of Atrocities Act, the Court rejected the bail.

Pranay's wife Amrutha Varshini, father Bala Swamy and others attended the hearing session. Public Prosecutor Mokini Satyanarayana Goud argued against granting bail to the accused in the case, the DSP said.

During the hearing, Amrutha pleaded with Justice Hussaib Hymed not to grant the bail to the accused, which include her father, Maruthi Rao. If they are granted bail, there is a danger of tampering with evidence and also will pose a threat to my life, she said.
