I Love My Husband, I am Dying Because God Called Me
Khammam: A mentally disturbed doctor committed suicide through self-immolation. The incident took place on Tuesday at Public Health Care center in Pedda Gopati.
According to the police, the deceased, Bongarala Veena (38) was a doctor hired on contract at an Ayurvedic hospital in PHC where she had been working for five years.
On Tuesday, she went to a room inside the hospital and closed the door. The locals found fire and smoke coming out of her room and heard a loud noise where the hospital staff and the locals immediately rushed to the spot. But it was too late by then as Dr. Veena was completely burned in the fire. The auto driver who dropped Veena at the hospital said that she purchased a bottle of petrol on her way.
Veena was married to Shiva Shankar and is survived by husband and two daughters. Shiva works in Hyderabad at a private company. Veena lived with her parents at Mamillagudem, Khammam. The body was shifted to Khammam government hospital for postmortem. Based on a complaint given by Veena's brother Pavan, the police has filed a case and started probing.
Veena's relatives said that she had been mentally unwell for some time now. She was also reportedly being treated by a psychiatrist over the last few days.
Suicide Note:
The police found a suicide note in her handbag. The note read: "I love my husband and children, I am so lucky to such a husband. I am dying because God has called me."
