Scorpio-Lorry Collision Wipes Out 10 Of Prakasam Family

Rajnandgaon/ Chhattisgarh:Ten people from Prakasam district died in a fatal road accident that took place in Rajnandgaon district in Chhattisgarh, on Sunday morning. While nine persons died on the spot ,four persons were severely injured and one person died on the way to the hospital.

The victims belonged to the same family from Hanumantunipadu, CS Puram, Marripudi and Veligandlamandals in Prakasam district and had migrated to Bhilai and living in Camp-1 in Bhilai Chhattisgarh. On account of Dusshera thirteen members from the family had gone to seek the blessings Bamaleswari Devi in Dongargarh on Saturday and were returning to Bhilai on Sunday morning. At round seven in the morning their Scorpio car hit a lorry coming in the opposite side near Somni Village on the Rajnandgaon - Durg road . While nine people including the driver died on the spot , four others sustained severe injuries and one person died on the way to the hospital.

The local police identified the deceased persons as Settii Venkata Lakshmi (27), Settii Manju (18) from Papayipalli in Veligandlamandal, Papabattini Pedda Mangaiah (30), his wife Papabattini Venkatalakshmi(25) Papabattini Manisha (15) Kudarii Adinarayana(32), his wife Kudarii Savitri (28) of Venkannagunta of CC Puram mandal and Andra Vijay Kumar(32), his wife Nagamani ( 25 ) of Garlapenta of Marripudimandal. While the injured persons are Chittibabu, Venkateswarlu, Mahendra and Kudarii Adinarayana an Savithri's only son Nithish, a five-year-old boy survived the accident.
