Jangaon: Minor Girl Resists Assault Thrown Into Well
Uppuggalu :A minor girl was abducted by her neighbour who tried to forced himself upon her. This incident occurred in Uppugallu village in the Station Ghanpur limits in Jangaon district. On seeing her alone the accused Rajesh Chary (23) who was her neighbour, abducted the girl (who had come for her Dusherra holidays) when she was standing in front of her house and carried her to an abandoned agricultural well . He threw the girl into the well and also jumped into the well and tried to sexually assault her.
Listening to her cries the people in the surrounding areas rushed towards the well. They threatened the boy and rescued the girl with the help of ropes. They called the police and shifted the girl to the MGM hospital who sustained minor injuries to her head and feet. The villagers then pulled out the boy from the well and thrashed him before the police intervened . A minor scuffle ensued between the villagers and the police as the boy was known to be a trouble maker in the village.
SI Venkata Krishna said that a complaint had been lodged by the minor's family in the local police station under Sections 376,366,307 & the POSCO act . The victim is an intermediate student and the accused is a daily wage labourer who discontinued his education.
