Extra-Marital Affair Leads To Couple’s Suicide
Vemulavavda: A couple committed suicide at Sri Raja Rajeswara Swamy temple, Vemulavada. The deceased were identified as Racharla Mounika (26) from Bellampalli, Manchiryala and auto driver Vishnuvardhan (26) from Lingapur, Bellampalli. Both of them consumed poison and committed suicide. It is learned that the couple were in an extramarital relationship.
According to the police, CI Venkataswamy, Mounika and Vishnuvardhan came to visit Vemulavada temple on Saturday. They stayed in a private lodge and extended their stay till Tuesday.
On Tuesday. the management suspected something amiss when the couple didn't open the door. Later they found that both were dead and informed police. The police found a suicide note and Aadhar card in the room. Based on the address on the Aadhar card, the police informed the victim's relatives.
It is learned that Vishnuvardhan and Mounika had been in a relationship for sometime. Meanwhile, Mounika got married to Ashok eight years ago. The couple had two children, Amrutha Varshini (7) and Aaryan (4). Mounika was pursuing her third year of MPHW course in a local government college.
Mounika and Vishnuvardhan continued their relationship after her marriage, the police discovered as per the suicide note. It is also learned that there were rifts between Mounika and Ashok when he came to know of the extramarital affair of his wife. Mounika used to go to a government hospital to attend practicals daily in Vishnu's auto.
Finally, they said, the decided to commit suicide since society will not accept their relationship and they felt they would fail to come together.
They mentioned in the suicide note that they were in love with each other from their 10th class and that her marriage was performed against her wishes, CI Venkata Swamy said. The bodies were shifted to the local government hospital and handed them to their relatives after the postmortem.
