Dubai Based NRI Arrested For Cheating Hyderabad Woman

Hyderabad: A Dubai-based NRI was held on Thursday for cheating the woman he purported to love and promised to marry. Based on a complaint lodged by the victim six months ago, the police arrested the accused at Shamshabad airport.

According to the police, Safdar Abbas Zaidi of Dar-ul-Shifa and the woman were in a relationship for sometime when they both were colleagues in the same company at Somajiguda. He later got intimate with her and promised to marry her. Subsequently, he left for Dubai in 2014. The woman joined him and even converted to his religion.

The couple returned to Hyderabad and convinced their parents for marriage. They also fixed the marriage date for April 17th and booked a function hall. But his parents cancelled the wedding and asked her to change the name in a legal document at Haj House. Abbas and the woman went to Dubai where he refused to marry her.

The victim filed a complaint against the accused with Malkajgiri police in February and the police arrested Abbas at Shamshabad airport.
