Badangpet School Girl Was Molested Before Murder: Cops

Hyderabad: Vevuri Vaishnavi, a fourteen year-old schoolgirl, stepped out of her house for a walk on Sunday morning. The eighth grader's body with grievious injuries on various parts including, head and face, was found near Badangpet under Medipally police station. Police suspect that the victim was molested before she was killed.

According to police sources and the version of the local residents, Vaishnavi's family had been staying at Rajiv Griha Kalpa in Badangpet for three years now. She was a student of the ZP high school. She went out on her walk on Sunday morning and when her mother, Anasuya, a sanitation worker with GHMC, noticed her absence on returning from work that evening, she informed her husband, a daily wage labourer.

Vaishnavi's family members complained to the police when attempts to trace her failed. The cops registered a case of 'a missing individual'. However, on Monday morning local residents, who noticed her dead body next to the Anganwadi Bhavan in Rajiv Griha Kalpa, informed the police.

The cops are said to have determined that Vaishnavi was kidnapped in the morning and was subjected to molestation. She was believed to have been killed subsequently,by drowning by unidentified assailants, who might have been overcome by fear.  The police suspect that the body was brougnt in an auto and dumped near DWCRA bhavan there.
