Minor House Maid Threatened, Raped Several Times

Kurnool: In a ghastly incident, a middle-aged man has been raping a minor on several occasions here. The incident came to light when the parents of the girl came to know that she was pregnant. According to police, a 14-year-old girl was allegedly raped by Shivarama Reddy in Kurnool's Ramalingeshwar Nagar on several occasions.

It is learnt that the girl was working as a domestic help at the house of the accused. She was being threatened and raped several times. With the change in the behaviour of the girl, the parents questioned her. She confessed that the man was threatening her and assaulting her. Later they also found that the girl was pregnant.

On coming to know about the incident, women organisations lashed out at the accused for employing a minor girl to work at his house and committing the heinous act on her. Police have taken the accused into custody for further investigation.

In a similar incident, in Ujjain in Madhya Pradesh, a 14-year-old boy was sent to reform home for two years by a juvenile board here for raping a four-year-old girl. The investigation of the case was completed in a record five days. This was the latest in a series of sexual assaults that were wrapped up in an expedited manner to ensure speedy justice for minor rape victims.
