Father Kills Daughter As Punishment For Marrying Uncle

Hyderabad: In a horrifying incident, a person killed his daughter after she married a relative. The incident took place under at Abdullapurmet police station limit near here. According to police, the father killed his daughter mercilessly by slitting her throat. Later, he surrendered to the police.

It is learnt that Vijaya, married her uncle four years back against the wishes of her father and relatives. Later, she started living with her husband. Recently she came home as her aunt died.

Her marriage to her uncle brought stigma to the family, it believed and thought it brought dishonour in their family circles. The police have filed a case and started investigation.

In a similar incident which took place at Allagadda of Kurnool district, Lakshmi Devi, who fell in love Chakali Nagendra of the same village, got married to him in a temple, though their wedding was opposed by their parents. Further they approached police officials, who arranged counseling for their parents and convinced them.

As their daughter was a minor, the parents promised to perform their marriage once she became a major. The very next morning her body was found on by the bank of a river, suggesting a mysterious death.
