Junior Doctor’s Suicide In Pileru Raises Suspicions

Pileru: A junior doctor committed suicide at her house in Pileru of Chittoor this morning. Shilpa, a junior doctor took the extreme step at her house in Jagruti Apartments here when her family members had gone out.

Shilpa married Rupesh Kumar five years ago. She was a PG student of Pediatrics department in SV Medical College, Tirupati. It is learnt that few professors were harassing her for some unknown reasons. Unable to bear the harassment, she had even complained against them to the NTR Health University officials as well as to the Governor of the state, ESL Narasimhan.

Many versions and doubts are making the rounds with regard to Shilpa's suicide. Some suspect that she might have committed suicide because she had failed her PG exams, results of which were announced yesterday. On the other hand, her family and friends alleged that the professors who had harassed her had deliberately given her poor grades as Shilpa had complained against them to the Governor. People suspect that Shilpa ended her life unable to bear the harassment. The inaction of the officials might have driven her to suicide, it is suspected. The police has registered a case and are investigating.
