Kurnool Quarry Blast: NBC Against TDP Leader

Injured in the quarry blast being treated at Kurnool government hospital - Sakshi Post

Kurnool: The Kurnool police informed today that a non-bailable case had been filed against Hattibelagal quarry owner and TDP leader Srinivas Choudhary under section 304/11. It has been reported that on Saturday night a blast occurred at a quarry in Hatibelagal in Aaluru mandal killing 11 persons.

According to TDP Aaluru in charge Veerabhadra Goud, the blast did not occur due to mine blasting, but was because of the dumping of gelatin sticks. He said if only action was taken against the quarry when the Gramadarsini people opposed it, the tragedy could have been averted. After complete investigation into the incident, proper action would be initiated, he pointed out.

Meanwhile, doctors are conducting post mortem on people who died in yesterday's blast. All those who died have been shifted to Kurnool government hospital. The bodies would be handed over to their respective families, the officials added.
