Gajwel Hospital’s Abortion Procedure Goes Awry, Kills Girl

A 22 year old girl who approached Padmasai Hospital in Gajwel rural for abortion died. According to reports, the girl, a resident of Lingareddypalli went to the private hospital seeking abortion. She was accompanied by two other people. It is learnt that when the doctors were conducting the procedure, the state of the patient turned critical due to excess bleeding after which she was shifted to Gandhi hospital. However, the girl lost her life in the interim.

Relatives, villagers and family of the victim staged a dharna in front of the hospital seeking justice. They alleged that it was due to the negligence of the doctors at the private hospital that the girl had died.

Soon as news of the agitation reached Gajwel police, CI Prasad reached the spot to console the victim's family. The IMA Branch officials who learnt of this pulled up the hospital authorities and said that it was because of their negligence that a life was lost. They also sought the help of police to take action against those hospitals conducting surgeries and abortions without license and permissions.
